Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger has partnered with the Art Production Fund, a nonprofit that supports public art projects, to create six limited-edition surfboards.

“APF combines my love of great American art with APF’s mission to produce public art projects, reach new audiences, and increase awareness of contemporary art,” the 62-year-old designer said in a statement.

Hilfiger asked five artists — Scott Campbell, Raymond Pettibon, Richard Phillips, Lola Montes Schnabel and Gary Simmons — to create one-of-a-kind surfboard designs for the iconic preppy brand.

“Lola, Richard, Scott, Gary, and Raymond have incredibly varied styles and brought unique perspectives to the project, which created a diverse and exciting result,” he explained. “From pop-culture portraits to mystical abstracts, they applied their innovative creative visions to the boards and I find each of them very inspiring.”
