Haute 100 New York Update: Andrew Cuomo Signs Book Deal
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is planning to pen a “a full and frank account” about his private life and the “profound moments” of his first term in office, reports The Associated Press.
The 55-year-old Democrat recently signed a book deal with publishing giant HarperCollins. No financial terms have been disclosed. Cuomo’s book is scheduled to be released next year, right around the same time as Hillary Rodham Clinton‘s.
Cuomo served as secretary of Housing and Urban Development during President Bill Clinton‘s administration and as New York’s attorney general for four years before becoming governor in 2010. One of his most notable career achievements was signing legislation allowing gay couples to marry in the state. He also helped secure financial aid for victims of Superstorm Sandy and signed gun control legislation following the deadly Newtown elementary school shooting.
