Slow Art Day at the Aspen Art Museum
On Saturday, April 27, more than 190 cities worldwide will participate in Slow Art Day, and Aspen is one of them. To encourage people to focus more on art and the art of seeing, the Aspen Art Museum will revisit the 2008 exhibit Imaginary Thing. The exhibit was curated by Peter Eeley; over 30 days one object per day was placed in an on-site hole in the ground and then it was covered. Today, it exists as a memory, conceptual exhibition, permanent sculpture, and an inaccessible archive.
CEO and Director Heidi Zuckerman Jacobson and local participating exhibition artists Annaday Hiser, Annette Roberts-Gray, Shelly Safir Marolt, and Tracy Nichols will be on-site, 3 to 5 p.m., for an afternoon of observation, thought, and lively exploration
