Oia has a privacy problem, and it’s called everyone else on the internet trying to get the exact same sunset photo you are. Santo Mine, perched above Ammoudi Bay on the site of a former stone mine, solves this with 37 suites carved into the volcanic cliffside, each with its own private pool or whirlpool and a terrace that means you can watch the famous sunset without negotiating for elbow room. Stone and earthy Mediterranean interiors keep the focus outward, while two infinity pools, a spa, and a wine cellar exist mainly to give you a reason to eventually put the phone down. It’s the rare Oia property that makes you forget Oia has a crowd problem at all.

Olea All Suite Hotel — Zakynthos, Greece

Water does most of the talking at Olea, and the loudest thing it says is the 4,000-square-meter lagoon-style pool that winds through the property as if it arrived before the hotel did. Set inside an ancient olive grove in Tsilivi, the 89 suites are built from natural materials in a warm, tropical-modernist style that has nothing to do with the whitewashed-cube look every other Greek-island hotel seems contractually obligated to use. Some suites open straight onto the pool; others have private pools of their own, which raises the obvious question of why you’d ever need to leave the room. Adults-only from age 12 up, it’s serene in the specific way that only comes from a strict no-toddlers policy.

THE VIEW Lugano — Lugano, Switzerland

THE VIEW does not bury the lede — the name is the entire pitch, and the panorama over Lake Lugano and the Swiss Alps delivers on it without complaint. The five-star boutique hotel is built to evoke a luxury yacht, and its 18 suites lean fully into the bit: 16 Junior Suites at a generous 50 square meters, plus two Dream Suites stretching to 105. Beyond the room there’s a spa, a fine-dining restaurant, and complimentary electric Smart cars and bikes for guests who eventually remember there’s an actual town down there too.

Lesante Blu — Zakynthos, Greece

Zakynthos gets a more romantic treatment at Lesante Blu, an adults-only member of The Leading Hotels of the World overlooking the Ionian Sea with the kind of confidence only a private helipad can buy. Even the entry-level Double Suite Sea View runs a solid 44 square meters, and the categories only get more indulgent from there — outdoor jetted tubs, private pools, and at the very top, a Royal Grand Suite spanning 160 square meters with its own 50-square-meter pool. Add a secluded beach, a spa, and yacht excursions, and you’ve built a resort with enough infrastructure to make leaving feel like a scheduling error.

The Chancery Rosewood — London, England

Turning a former U.S. Embassy into a hotel sounds like a premise a streaming show would pitch and then quietly abandon, but Rosewood actually pulled it off — David Chipperfield restored Eero Saarinen’s 1960s Grosvenor Square building, and Joseph Dirand gave its 144 suites a softer, considerably sexier identity than diplomacy ever allowed. Eight restaurants and bars, including the first Carbone outside New York, mean the hotel functions as a Mayfair social destination whether or not you’re actually staying there. There’s also an Asaya spa and a rooftop bar with the kind of London views that justify the price of admission on their own. It opened in September 2025 and still has that new-hotel electricity that hasn’t worn off.

Royal Princess — Dubrovnik, Croatia

Royal Princess earns its spot on a 2027 list for one simple reason: it’s basically new again. The five-star, all-suite hotel on Dubrovnik’s Lapad Peninsula reopened in early spring 2026 following a full renovation, with refreshed interiors and upgraded amenities layered onto its already-enviable spot on the Adriatic. Suites come with separate living spaces and private balconies, and the Deluxe Sea View Suite adds a kitchenette and enough room for four — useful if you want Dubrovnik’s beauty without squeezing into the Old Town’s historic, and historically tiny, footprint.

Taj 51 Buckingham Gate — London, England

Sometimes the real luxury isn’t a rooftop bar or a plunge pool — it’s an actual living room, an actual kitchen, and enough square footage to unpack like you mean it. Taj 51 Buckingham Gate delivers exactly that across 86 suites and residences spread through three historic townhouses steps from Buckingham Palace, with fully equipped kitchens starting in the roughly 40-square-meter Junior Suites and butler service available in select categories. If your travel party has opinions and headcounts, you can combine suites into a six-bedroom residence and let everyone have their own door.

The Emory answered that by not really building a hotel at all — Maybourne’s Knightsbridge property is London’s first purpose-built all-suite hotel, 61 suites deep, with André Fu and Patricia Urquiola among the roster of designers let loose on its interiors. Every guest gets an Emory Assistant and use of the house car, which sounds like a gimmick right up until you’re the one being driven back from Heathrow. The real flex, though, is Surrenne — a four-floor, roughly 21,500-square-foot wellness club with a 22-meter pool and the U.K.’s first Tracy Anderson studio, included with your stay and, as far as I can tell, non-negotiable.
