Update on Midtown Eatery Opening
Reports from one of our favorite sources, Grub Street, brings exciting news for afternoon noshers. As early as next week, Má Pêche, a.k.a. Momofuku Midtown will finally greet guests at its new home.
Back in November, editors from Food & Wine visited David Chang’s outpost, which at the time was calling the lounge of the Chambers Hotel home, reporting on the specialty cocktails for which the brand has become well-known.
When the permanent doors officially open next week, fans of the Asian bistro can check out more than just the spirits. The new operation offers Momofuku buffs several places for satiation, including:
- Momofuku Milk Bar: the takeout space for bakery yummies that have helped create a legion of fans.
- Balcony Bar: serving breakfast and lunch, and then a trimmed down evening menu until 11 p.m.
- Downstairs dining room: seating 85 guests, the main feature of Momofuku Midtown is the communal dining table that criss-crosses the room.
Thomas Schlesser helped to transform the old Town venue into what will become the new mod of Midtown. Check out the Grub Street review of the Má Pêche design features and ambiance, which includes a myriad of eco-friendly materials that would surely pass our own OrGLAMic test.
