Hyatt Regency Chicago Set To Unveil $168 Million Renovation
After three long years, the Hyatt Regency Chicago (151 East Wacker Drive) is set to unveil their $168 million renovation on April 1st. For people who love great hotels, this is truly a treat. The Hyatt Regency Chicago is already the largest Hyatt property in the world with 2,019 guest rooms, 228,000 square feet of meeting space and five restaurants and lounges, now with the upgrades it’s making it the hospitality center of the Midwest with a more welcoming lobby, engaging check-in pods, new restaurant concepts and enhanced menus. The renovation was basically to enhance all aspects of their guest experience.
The renovations were designed by the acclaimed architects and planners Bentel + Bentel and it included the East Tower lobby, East and West Tower guestrooms, as well as the meeting and dining spaces. Just seeing East and West Tower lets you know just how expansive the hotel is. The project broke ground in 2010 and was completed in three phases, the first two phases both cost $45 million and that was for the East and West Tower guest rooms. The last phase that just finished up cost $78 million and included the East Tower Lobby and dining outlets. They have made the dining spaces more modern and sleek in an attempt to not only enhance the experience of the guests of the hotel, but the locals alike. The only thing being released right now are the artist renderings, for the big reveal you have to wait until Monday, April 1st.
