Chef Daniel Boulud Created An Oscar-Themed Menu at His UES Restaurant

Can’t make to it to Los Angeles for this year’s Academy Awards ceremony? Not to worry! Legendary chef Daniel Boulud is bringing the party to his namesake restaurant on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

In celebration of the star-studded event, Boulud has created an Oscar-themed menu at Daniel that is “a celebration of the movies” featuring “fun – not too cerebral” dishes.

Though Boulud tried to pay homage to all of the year’s films, there were a few he couldn’t quite conceptualize through food. “[I] loved Argo, but except for giving you a big pile of caviar or a soup with saffron, I am not versed on Iranian dishes,” he told People.

Boulud created six hors d’oeuvres inspired by the story and setting of Best Picture nominee “Les Misérables.” He also created dishes based on the flicks “No,” “Life of Pi,” “Kon-Tiki,” “Amour” and “Royal Affair.”
