Jane Lynch is trading in McKinley High for New York City. The Emmy-winning star of “Glee” is slated to join the Broadway production “Annie” for a limited eight-week run beginning May 16, reports the New York Daily News.

Lynch will replace Katie Finneran as Miss Hannigan, the mean woman that runs the orphanage. Finneran is leaving the play to film her part in Michael J. Fox‘s new television series.

“Some may say I know a thing or two about playing intimidating authority figures,” the actress said in a statement, giving a nod to her current role as ruthless Sue Sylvester on the Fox TV show.

Though Lynch has performed on stage at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and The Second City in Chicago, “Annie” will be her Broadway debut.
