Chicago Restaurant Week (February 1-10, 2013) is a 10-day dining event that features over 250 Chicago area restaurants. It’s an event that celebrates the culinary offerings of Chicago’s world-class food scene. I constantly talk about the amazing and abundant dining options in this city, this event is a chance to enjoy your old favorites or discover new ones. Restaurants like Allium, Balsan, Bar Toma, Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse, Shaw’s, Mortons and many more will be participating. Chicago Restaurant Week (technically it’s longer than a week, so that’s a bonus) features prix fixe menus starting at $22 for lunch and either $33 or $44 for dinner, which excludes beverages, taxes and gratuity of course. These prices are an amazing value at these fine dining establishments, so it’s strongly suggested that you make reservations in advance. For a full list of participating restaurants visit Choose Chicago.
If you can’t wait until February 1st and want a taste of what’s t come at Chicago Restaurant Week, you should definitely attend First Bites Bash 2013. It will be held at Union Station (500 W Jackson Street) on January 24, 2013 and is the official kick-off event for Chicago Restaurant Week. It’s being put on by Choose Chicago and will be hosted by Chef Dirk Flanigan. You can enjoy dishes from over 50 of Chicago’s top chefs and restaurants. Tickets to First Bites Bash are $95, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. It’s a good way to help out a great cause and enjoy some great food.
