Robin Roberts Hopes To Be Back on ‘Good Morning America’ By February
After a grueling battle with MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease, Robin Roberts can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The 52-year-old “Good Morning America” anchor appeared on Monday’s show via satellite and announced that her most recent bone marrow test showed no sign of the life-threatening disease — and that she’s ready to come back to work! “I’m coming home,” Roberts exclaimed while “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” played in the background.
Roberts, who has been on medical leave since Aug. 30, says she hopes to return “in weeks, not months.” Despite her eagerness to get back on the air full-time, Roberts is taking all necessary precautions to ensure that she doesn’t put any additional stress on her body, even if that means adjusting to a new sleep schedule. “I got up at 4 AM this morning,” she said proudly. “I’ve got to get back on ‘GMA’ time.”
