Haute 100 Update: Beyoncé Has A Room Filled With Beyoncé Memorabilia

News | January 11, 2013

If Beyoncé ever contracts amnesia and forgets that she’s won 16 Grammys, sold 75 million albums or just signed a $50 million dollar endorsement deal with Pepsi, luckily she has an entire reference library at her fingertips. The 31-year-old pop star keeps a meticulous, borderline-crazy sounding “archive room” in her her midtown Manhattan office, according to the issue February of GQ.

The official temperature-controlled Beyoncé archive contains every existing photograph of the musician beginning with the first snapshots of Destiny’s Child (the ’90s girl group she once fronted), every interview she’s ever done, every video of every show she’s ever performed and every diary entry she’s ever recorded from her laptop.

“Stop pretending that I have it all together,” Beyoncé said in a revealing video clip. “If I’m scared, be scared, allow it, release it, move on. I think I need to go listen to ‘Make Love to Me’ and make love to my husband.”

The digital database, modeled loosely on NBC’s library, is still a work in progress. Though the labeling, date-stamping, and cross-referencing has been under way for two years, it will take several months before the entire process is complete.
