Hero-Themed Bash Raises Money for UNICEF

News | December 17, 2012

Several prominent New Yorkers gathered at the The Angel Orensanz Foundation on Dec. 13 for UNICEF’s Next Generation 3rd Annual Masquerade Ball, a fundraising gala that brings awareness of the organization’s live-saving work to young philanthropists. This year, guests were invited to “Be a Hero for ZERO” and come dressed as their favorite hero. The theme reflected UNICEF’s mission of working toward a day when ZERO children die of preventable causes.

Steering Committee Chair and mom-to-be Jenna Bush Hager stopped by the event with her sister Barbara Bush. Other notable guests included Danielle Abraham, Jaime Jiménez, John Kluge, Jr., Neil Diamond, Gillian Hearst Simonds, Alexandra Cart, Arielle Diskin, Emily Griset, Aditi Joshi, Rebecca Kelly, Erin McGowan Kiernan, Claudio Ochoa, Blair Palmer, Thomas Pierce, Wendy Reyes, Joe Stonbely II and Elizabeth Yale.

Guests were treated to music by DJs Neil Jackson and Lawrence Lee and a magic show by Josh Beckerman. The sold-out event raised over $160,000 for UNICEF, which will help fund child protection programs in Vietnam.
