
PG&E Gives SF Youth Inside View During America’s Cup Youth Day
San Francisco's youth will be learning to sail come 2013 America's Cup, thanks to PG&E and the Treasure Island Sailing Center, who have partnered to create America's Cup Youth Day.

San Francisco’s youth will learn to sail come the 2013 America’s Cup Finals, thanks to PG&E and the Treasure Island Sailing Center.
PG&E and The Treasure Island Sailing Center have teamed up to create America’s Cup Youth Day, a program focused on focused on brining the sport of sailing to the City’s youth through interactive activities and up-close views to the intense racing action on the water.
One hundred elementary school students from San Francisco’s Western Addition Beacon Center after-school program participated in the first-ever event that took place during the October 2012 World Series Action. Children had the opportunity to watch the sailors compete on the world’s fastest boats – the AC45 wing-sailed catamaran – and experience a variety of interactive activities such as knot-tying, soap-boat racing, and net traverse stations.
