Haute 100 NY Update: Jay-Z Will Play Three Shows To Open Brooklyn’s Barclays Center
Jay-Z added two concerts to his bill that will christen the controversial Barclays Center in Brooklyn this fall. The king of hip-hop was already scheduled to play a September 28 show at the sprawling new sports and entertainment complex, and will now go for the trifecta with gigs on September 29 and 30.
Jay has played an integral role in the development of Barclays. He’s a minority owner of the (soon-to-be Brooklyn) Nets, the NBA team that will be the first new NYC-based team in decades when it moves into an 18,000-seat arena in the development.
