WiP And Greenhouse Lose Liquor Licenses After Chris Brown-Drake Brawl
We mentioned yesterday that Tony Parker was suing WiP, the lounge tucked into the basement of Greenhouse nightclub where singers Drake and Chris Brown and, of course, their entourages got into a bottle throwing match allegedly prompted by a feud over Rihanna, whom both have dated. Now, the State Liquor Authority has revoked the club’s liquor license, citing numerous code violations. ““The SLA will not tolerate violent bars that break the law,” said Chairman Dennis Rosen. “This should serve as a message that this agency will not hesitate to take immediate action when licensees pose a threat to public health and safety.”
The venue, which has been hemorrhaging money since the authorities closed it after the Brown-Drake fiasco, can appeal the ruling. But in all likelihood this will mark the end for WiP and Greenhouse, forcing R. Kelly and Knicks player Iman Shumpert to find new venues for parties they’d already booked there. Vandam, nightlife queen Susanne Bartsch’s Sunday alt-glam dance party, should also start looking for a new home.
