Giants closer Brian Wilson is set to meet with two top orthopedists this week after getting a “moderate sprain” of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
Giants closer Brian Wilson is set to meet with two top orthopedists this week after getting a “moderate sprain” of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
The extent of damage to Wilson’s UCL has yet to be confirmed by Giants trainer Dave Groeschner; however, Groeschner did describe the sprain as moderate. Said sprain could be considered a Grade 2 (on a scale of three) if Wilson’s UCL is not fully torn; therefore he could opt for rehab rather than surgery. Nevertheless, Wilson is mentally prepared to undergo the procedure and the 12 months of rehab and has even stated that he is looking forward to “getting a new arm.”
