Palazzo Chupi’s Last Unit Sold

News | February 15, 2010

Julian Schnabel, known for his heavy paintings on broken plates and directing of such films as “Basquiat,” “Before Night Falls” and “The Diving Bell” has sold the final unit at Palazzo Chupi, 360 West 11th St., according to Curbed. This is the same building where Richard Gere owns a unit.

Located near the West Side Highway, the 4,000-square-foot Pompeii-red duplex has endured a series of price cuts thanks to the sinking real estate market. It originally sold for $12 million to Magellan 360 LLC in December, down $20 million from the original asking price of $32 million, says Curbed.
