On October 6, 2011, the American Cancer Society hosted An Evening of San Francisco Inspiration…One Night Can Make a Difference, an inaugural event to benefit the American Cancer Society’s mission to eliminate cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service.
Emmy Award winner Cheryl Jennings of ABC7 News hosted this year’s event. The celebration honored Susan Desmond-Hellmann, M.D.,M.P.H., Chancellor of the University of San Francisco for her achievements, as well as her enduring commitment to cancer patients. Honorary Chair, N. Anthony Coles, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Onyx Pharmaceuticals, was also on hand for the festivities. The gala proved to be unforgettable, as guests enjoyed San Francisco’s finest tastes, sounds, and sites throughout the evening.
