Tony Blair Hosts Fundraiser Catered by Bay Area’s Own

News | November 4, 2011

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, along with Charlie Rose, hosted an Autumn Harvest-themed dinner party/fundraiser at the Atherton home of Chris and Jennifer Kelly in support of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation.  The dinner, prepared by Bay area chefs Tyler Florence and Emily Luchetti, after the first course, was served family-style.  Ridge and Blackbird provided wine pairings as the 55 guests feasted on dishes like smoked sturgeon and uni and spit roasted suckling pig.

One highlight of the meal, for Blair at least, was s’mores for dessert—the British politician’s first s’more ever.  In Luchetti’s version of the campfire classic, she used homemade graham crackers and homemade marshmallow with melted E. Guittard 61% chocolate.  NorCal cuisine proved to be a pleasure for the British audience; Blair said the dinner was a relief from his usual “rubber chicken” engagements.
