Haute Couture: Top Five Most Stylish Looks of the Week
Check out the five most fashionably haute looks we saw the stars rocking this week.
Lisa and Jessica Origliasso of The Veronicas’ edgy red carpet looks were a breath of fresh air after the sea of Emmys gowns that infiltrated the blogosphere this past week. The sisters arrived at Everleigh in Los Angeles for the Lucky Brand “A New Movement in Demin” Benefit for The Art of Elysium on September 21 looking effortlessly cool and decked out in some of fall’s hottest trends. Jessica’s printed top and flared jeans gave off a boho vibe, while Lisa looked rock-chic in a white blouse with a neck tie (so hot for fall!), a fur jacket, and black skinnies, which she perfectly accessorized with this season’s go-to style of lace up booties and a matching brown belt.
Dancing With the Stars’ Kym Johnson arrived with partner David Arquette at the “2011 Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film Pre-Emmy Party” in Los Angeles. The dancer chose Kimberly Taylor’s “Tutu Dress” for the occasion, which she purchased from stylehaüs. Her black and gold quilted leather 3.1 Phillip Lim belt and black Christian Louboutin peep toes were the perfect choice to add some personality to this LBD, reminding us exactly why the classic wardrobe staple will never go out of style!
Nancy Shevell arrived at the NYC Ballet Gala on September 22 in this sequined Stella McCartney dress. Backless dresses are hot this fall and Paul McCartney’s fiancé got the trend right by choosing an option with a high neckline and long sleeves- with the plunging back it’s essential to leave a little to the imagination! The only thing keeping this look from perfection is those awful strappy kitten heels, the mullet of shoes as far as I am concerned. I wish she would have opted for some nude pumps instead, which would have made her legs look much longer and modernized her look.
Actress Rose Byrne attended a Gotham Magazine event in New York City earlier this week and looked radiant while rocking this Christine Alcalay wrap dress. The bold red and bright yellow are perfectly juxtaposed with this edgy print, but still remains elegant and youthful. With her hair and makeup understated and fresh, she definitely stands out from the crowd with this sexy look. This dress was definitely a riskier choice and I admire her for pulling it off!
Leighton Meester attended the HTC Serves up NYC Product Launch party on September 20th and looked effortlessly modern in this Marios Schwab dress from his Spring 2012 collection. Floral prints are a huge trend for next season, but I love the subdued pattern of the skirt paired with the sleek, black bodice. This silhouette looks beautiful on Leighton’s slim hourglass figure, not to mention her blunt bangs and funky beaded Burberry heels bring a sexy, trendy vibe to her outfit.
