Disney to Announce New Avatar Attraction

News | September 21, 2011

The Walt Disney Company will announce a major licensing deal to bring the 20th Century Fox hit ‘Avatar’ to its theme parks. Set to make its debut in Orlando, FL, the ‘Avatar’ attraction will join ‘Indiana Jones’ and ‘Star Wars’ as the third non-Disney attraction to make a mark on Disney and is slated to be wildly successful.

Disney will create a one of a kind experience around the 2009 blockbuster movie about humans colonizing an alien moon, featuring interactive game play.  ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment will join Disney’s Imagineers in designing the attraction.
