We’re Getting Ready for the Grammy’s in the Latest Issue of Haute Living Los Angeles
In the newest issue of Haute Living Los Angeles, we don’t just take readers behind the scenes of the legendary career of music mogul Clive Davis, or into the world of the power players in Southern California real estate, we also speak with Neil Portnow, president and CEO of The Recording Academy, the 18,000-member organization in charge of producing the Grammy Awards ceremony each year.
In our one-on-one interview, Portnow tells Editorial Director Stephanie Wilson about his love for the music industry, how he deals with the egos that often rear their ugly heads in his line of work, and the scramble to solve last-minute snafus that arise before airtime. “Portnow reminisces about how last year ‘two acts dropped out of the show, on the day of the show, three hours before airtime. It was a challenge to say the least,’ referring to Rihanna and Chris Brown. But as is the case with any challenge, that incident was taken in stride, as this wasn’t the first unforeseen mishap.”
