If you’re looking for the perfect holiday gift, you can never go wrong with pearls.

And, for your special someone, and we REALLY mean special, there may be no better gift than a one-of-a-kind, $1 million Mikimoto pearl necklace. The strand features South Sea cultured pearls – all of which are AAA quality – and a diamond-studded clasp. Want more details?  Alright, alright. Here they are.

The pearls – 27 of them in total – are a sight to behold, as each measures 5.06 X 17.24 mm in diameter, and take more than ten years to complete. The clasp, oval in shape and art deco in design, features 11.92 carats of diamonds, the perfect addition to this fanastic piece of jewelry.

K. Mikimoto & Co., Ltd. is the company founded by Mikimoto Kokichi, a Japanese entrepreneur who invented and perfected the first technique for the commercial production of cultured pearls. Mikimoto, who died in 1954 at the age of 96, was posthumously awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Sacred Treasure, a Japanese decoration awarded for long and meritorious service.
