Tonight: John Stamos and Beach Boys Perform at the Voices Against Brain Cancer Foundation Concert
Good music for a great cause comes to the Fillmore Miami Beach tonight as music legends The Beach Boys take the stage for the first annual Sounding Off for a Cure benefit concert and auction in Florida. One hundred percent of the ticket sales and auction proceeds benefit the Voices Against Brain Cancer Foundation’s work of research and support for a cause that is both under funded and suffers from a lack of public awareness.
The evening will be star packed as Gloria Gaynor, Lou Graham, The Osmond Brothers and John Stamos, who will join the Beach Boys on stage, are also scheduled to perform. Miami local talent will also share the spotlight as the University of Miami Frost School of Music’s Henry Mancini Institute Symphony Orchestra accompanies the evening’s performances. A special tribute is also planned for some of the brightest music stars who have lost their battle to brain cancer including George Harrison, Celia Cruz, Bob Marley and Nara Leão.
There will also be both a silent and live auction with the live auction taking place during tonight’s concert. Items up for bid include a signed Dwyane Wade Heat jersey, a Balenciaga tote bag, an Azamara European cruise and tennis lessons from Dean Goldfine, the legendary coach of Andy Roddick and Mary Jo Fernandez. Dinners, hotel stays, concert tickets and sports memorabilia are also listed for auction. Tickets are still available and range from $150 – $300 for VIP tickets.
