Haute Event: By Kilian Fragrance Luncheon at Saks Fifth Avenue
Yesterday afternoon, Haute Living was honored to sponsor and attend a special luncheon and “scent session” at Saks Fifth Avenue Dadeland as we welcomed esteemed perfumer, Kilian Hennessy, who introduced the latest collection in his line of luxury fragrances, By Kilian.
Luxury is in Kilian’s blood (Hennessy, as in the “H” in LVMH), though he came up with the concept for his perfume collection entirely on his own. His perfumes are meant to tell a story, each representing the steps in a romantic relationship.
As he animatedly told the story of each unique perfume, his passion for the art of fragrance was apparent. He has carefully selected every detail, every ingredient, every note for each of his nine fragrances so that they evoke what their name implies.
The intimate group of guests included philanthropist Lea Black from The Real Housewives of Miami; Gisela Lowenstein, founder of The Glow System, an organizational tool that’s transforming the way we organize ours lives, and wife of prominent developer, Diego Lowenstein; Raquel, Watters, owner of Rik Rak Salon and Spa; DCOTA Marketing Director Ashlee Harrison; and Haute Living publisher Kamal Hotchandani and National Fashion Director, Jilian Sanz.
Kilian stuck around well after the Veuve Clicquot had stopped being poured to sign guests’ purchases on the hand-made wooden boxes that house the fragrances; boxes he had earlier mentioned take about months to create.
