Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week may have officially started today, but last night, designer fashions graced the the runway at The Lincoln Center a day early for the annual Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show.

The Heart Truth campaign raises funds and awareness for heart disease, which is the #1 cause of death in American women.The Red Dress Collection 2011 Fashion Show has consistently been been one of the campaign’s most successful and well-known events. Every year, the show features celebrities who walk down the runway in red dresses designed by some of the most famous American fashion designers.

This year, the show featured a slew of everyone’s favorite celebs. Notables who walked in the show included Ann Curry of The Today Show in Carmen Marc Valvo, Alison Sweeney in Tadashi Shoji, The Good Wife’s Archie Panjabi in J. Mendel, Audrina Patridge in Badgley Mischka, Denise Richards in Matthew Williamson, Dita Von Teese in Zac Posen, singer Eve in David Meister, Garcelle Beauvais in Monique Lhuillier, E!’s Giuliana Rancic in Notte by Marchesa, country singer Julianne Hough in Swarovski, Katrina Bowden in Oscar de la Renta, Patti LaBelle in Zang Toi, Suzanne Somers in Ina Soltani, and Natasha Bedingfield in Nicole Miller (who performed her song “Strip Me” after walking).

Others who came out to support the event included Matthew McConaughey, Susan Sarandon, Nigel Barker, Miss J Alexander, Countess Luann deLesseps, and Sonja Morgan.

The official after party was held at New York hotspot AVENUE where Taraji P. HensonDania RamirezSuzanne SomersSelita EbanksJeremy Piven, Reggie BushStephanie Pratt and Lo Bosworth were all spotted.

The show was presented by Diet Coke with national sponsor Swarovski and partners Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and AOL The Heart Truth is sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

For its third year, The Heart Truth has teamed up with the Clothes Off Our Back organization, which will auction a selection of designer dresses worn by celebrities in the fashion show.  Proceeds will go directly toward the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health.
