Cipriani Wall Street’s Valentine’s Day “Who Needs a Valentine?” Special Event

As I stare down at my now empty bag of Kisses, let me ask you something Milton Hershey: Was it not enough for you that I just ate my body weight in your chocolate? Was it truly necessary to do me twice-over by wrapping my guilt in pink and red foil, giving me sufficient reminder in January of not only Valentines Day’s encroachment but also of my perpetual singledom? Clearly it was not and thank you kindly.

Historically on the books to venerate a few early Catholic martyrs aptly named Valentine, at present this day lionizes the love and affection of intimate partners. Looking through my (pun intended) rose-colored glasses however, Valentine’s Day is a reminder that I am alone in a city where women now outnumber men approximately 6:1.

This February 14th I have resolved to take matters into my own hands. Blessed be she who needn’t tread far in her Fendis to look good, and she, be me. Valentine’s Day 2011 will be spent at Cipriani Wall Street; the evening’s tagline – “Who Needs a Valentine? Come Find Your Match. Singles Night Out.” A Cipriani event is never one to disappoint, and with such a promising lineup, the bar is set high. With a full dinner buffet, music by DJ Jacques from Paris and a complimentary Bellini bar for ladies, I will be victorious over Mr. Hershey and trek the 100-yards from my own Wall Street abode to land me a banker beau.

If worse comes to worst this evening and there is no sign of any sex in my city, I won’t go home alone. Lucky am I, for equally proximate to my apartment as Cipriani is the candy aisle of my 24 hour Duane Reade. There I can always find my favorite bachelor who never lets me go to bed unsatisfied, Mr. Goodbar. Take that Cupid, and Your Little Bow and Arrow Too…

Cipriani Wall Street, 55 Wall Street. To RSVP for Singles Night Out, call 646.723.0897 or email: ebonnetain@cipriani.com.
