Haute Event: De Beers Art Basel Dinner

On Dec. 2, François Delage, CEO of De Beers Diamond Jewelers, Daphne Guinness and Stefano Tonchi, Editor in Chief of W magazine, hosted an intimate dinner at Cecconi’s at Soho Beach House to celebrate the kickoff to Art Basel.

Guests were given an exclusive preview of a selection of De Beers’ jewelry creations, including the unveiling of the Talisman Wonder called “a modern day treasure and the ultimate expression of the Art of Diamond Jewelery.” The handcrafted one-of-a-kind Wonder features 691 diamonds and measures 20-cm in diameter. De Beers also revealed its new Swan Lake High Jewelery collection, which features a blend of uniquely shaped and colored diamonds.

Tonchi said of the evening, “De Beers and Daphne Guinness both possess supreme style and elegance. The presentation of the De Beers jewels was stunning and we were thrilled to co-host this event and celebrate with De Beers and Daphne at Art Basel.” For the event, Guinness donned the diamond De Beers Wavy Line necklace paired with the 55.07-carat Cushion and Micropave necklace and matching drop earrings.

Attendees of the dinner included Susan Sarandon, Stefano Pilati, Francisco Costa, Ron Arad, Elisa Sednaoui, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Don and Mera Rubell and many others.
