Awards season has a way of distilling an entire year of sound, sweat, and ambition into a single night. This week’s drink — in honor of this Sunday’s 68th Annual Grammy Awards — captures that same energy — celebratory but considered, polished yet expressive — a cocktail designed to toast craft at the highest level.
The Golden Record, created by Mexico City institution Licorerìa Limantour, is built like a great track: layered, elegant, and deceptively complex. A base of ultra-smooth aged tequila is lifted with prosecco, then sharpened with fino sherry and pear cordial, creating a profile that’s bright on first sip and quietly nuanced as it opens up. A dash of bergamot bitters adds just enough aromatic tension, while a garnish of red grapes nods to old-school glamour.
It’s a cocktail that feels right for a big night — whether you’re watching from a velvet banquette, backstage, or your living room couch with the volume up.
Says Limantour’s head bartender Daniel Gonazalez, “We wanted to create a cocktail that felt celebratory, elevated, and worthy of music’s biggest night. PATRÓN EL ALTO is an exceptionally smooth, handcrafted tequila, crafted from a rare blend of Añejo and Reposado tequilas and finished with Extra Añejo aged for four years, delivering incredible depth, balance, and sweetness. It naturally became the foundation for a cocktail meant to toast to the world’s greatest musical talent, and PATRÓN Tequila’s commitment to craftsmanship and quality.”
How to Make The Golden Record

1.5 oz aged tequila
1 oz prosecco
0.5 oz fino sherry
2 oz pear cordial
Dash of bergamot bitters
Garnish: three slices of red grapes
Stir gently, strain into a chilled coupe, top with prosecco, and garnish.
Why we love it: It’s celebratory without being sweet, refined without feeling stiff — the kind of drink that lets the moment shine without stealing the spotlight.
