Aaron Donald, Barry Bonds, Spike Lee, and Wayne Gretzky Honored at LA Charity Gala

Friday night marked the 25th Anniversary Celebrity Dinner hosted by the Harold and Carole Pump Foundation, celebrating a quarter century of impact in advancing cancer treatment and funding vital programs. The milestone evening honored Aaron Donald, Barry Bonds, Spike Lee, and Wayne Gretzky with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Reggie McKnight and R.J. Melman received the Humanitarian Award. In total, the event raised more than $2.8 million for the foundation’s mission.

The night dazzled from start to finish — with a soulful, high-energy performance by Grammy-nominated artist Robin Thicke, and an unforgettable live and silent auction featuring exclusive sports memorabilia, luxury travel, VIP experiences, and more.

Highlights from the stage:

Barry Bonds, in a moving moment, dedicated his trophy to his mother, saying: “She’s the one who took me to little league and made me play baseball… So this trophy, mom, has your name on it.”

Wayne Gretzky reflected on the heart of sports, sharing: “We don’t play to win awards for helping people… The greatest thing about sports is the people.”

Magic Johnson praised the Pump brothers for honoring their parents’ legacy, reminding the audience: “A lot of times we forget that our parents helped us achieve our goals and dreams.”

Foundation co-founders Dana and David Pump expressed their gratitude, with David recalling his promise to their late father to make a difference through action, not words.

The star-studded guest list included Shaquille O’Neal, Mike Tyson, Meagan Good, Mario Lopez, Sugar Ray Leonard, Storm Reid, Cedric the Entertainer, Jonathan Majors, Sammy Sosa, and Judge Mathis, among many others who came together to support the cause.
