HAUTE LIVING: What inspired “Cars and Opera”?
RADMILA LOLLY: For me, “Cars and Opera” is about breaking free from conventions. I’ve always been fascinated by the emotional intensity of opera and the dynamic energy of automobiles.
HL: How did the concept come to life?
RL: The idea evolved from my experiences attending Formula One races. Witnessing drivers push their limits and knowing everything is on the line resonated deeply. I saw parallels with opera singing: We can’t rely on microphones or safety nets. We must perform at our best, vulnerable yet powerful, in front of thousands. This shared intensity sparked the concept.
