Fendi Unveils Its First-Ever Boutique in Madrid’s Salamanca District
Fendi has officially made its mark in Madrid with the grand opening of its first boutique, strategically located on Calle Ortega y Gasset in the prestigious Salamanca luxury district. This milestone reflects Fendi’s continued expansion and commitment to offering a luxurious shopping experience in one of Europe’s fashion capitals.
The new 240-square-meter boutique celebrates the Fendi universe, featuring Women’s and Men’s collections in an elegantly remodeled open space. It combines the brand’s iconic heritage with local Spanish influences and carefully selected artistic elements to create a sophisticated and immersive atmosphere.

Drawing on Fendi’s established links to art and design, the boutique showcases bespoke furnishings, many of which are crafted by emerging Spanish designers. These pieces have been sourced from Alzueta Gallery, a contemporary art hub in Madrid that highlights young and established Spanish and international artists. The artworks contribute to the boutique’s aesthetic, aiming to go beyond surface-level beauty by evoking a deeper connection to form and color—elements that resonate with Fendi’s signature style.

The boutique’s exterior features a heritage façade with see-through windows, creating a seamless connection between the interior design and the street. As guests enter, they are greeted by a dramatic double-height space characterized by a refined mix of materials and textures. Inspired by a traditional Spanish rhombus pattern, the flooring has been reimagined in alternating white and pink travertine, complemented by green St. Denis marble, adding to the boutique’s distinctive ambiance.

The front area showcases Women’s bags, accessories, and shoes. These items are displayed against ribbed travertine marble walls, which evoke ancient ruins, and are adorned with the diagonal F logo—a motif sketched by Karl Lagerfeld. Niche displays in three-dimensional plaster feature geometric and Pequin patterns from Fendi’s archives. The space is further enhanced by contemporary pieces such as sculptures by Stan Van Steendam and a striking round table by Roberto Sironi, carved from Rima yellow marble and reminiscent of Roman ruins. Fendi’s signature fur tablets with unique motifs are featured throughout the store, emphasizing the brand’s Roman roots and artisanal mastery.
A round walnut staircase leads to the mezzanine floor, which houses the women’s ready-to-wear and fur collections and the VIP Client (VIC) room. This level features stainless steel walls softened by three art pieces from the Temperature Collection by Aythamy Armas, a Canary Islands artist. His works, created with pastels, spray paint, and ink, pay homage to Spain’s vibrant local artistry.

The VIC room offers an intimate, living-room-inspired space with three-dimensional walls decorated with a custom FF pattern incorporating Spanish design elements. The room’s black and white Patagonia marble floor and carefully curated furniture enhance the exclusive experience. The try-on area walls feature artistic elements selected from Alzueta Gallery, such as The Corner by Maru Quinoñero, which uses pencil on paper to harmonize with the room’s palette.
