As if the annual Met Gala isn’t exciting enough, Gucci hosted the event’s official afterparty, with the catchy and fashion-forward “Gucci Vs. Guccy” theme. The party was the luxury fashion house’s official celebration of its Costume Institute Spring 2019 Exhibition sponsorship, Camp: Notes on Fashion, with an over-the-top, star-studded guest list and DJ sets by Mark Ronson, Dev Hynes and Suga Shay. Continuing the gala’s Camp theme, the Hunter College Gymnasium—the venue for the party—was decked out with tinsel streamers boasting the school’s official colors, Gucci-monogrammed cups with a collegiate theme and the words GUCCI VS. GUCCY emblazoned on the scoreboard. Concession stands served American classics, including onion rings, corn dogs and soft-serve ice cream on cafeteria-style lunch trays.
