Philanthropist Christine and Dr. Gabriel Chiu brought Chinatown to Beverly Hills for an exquisite Chinatown 90120 celebration for the 2019 Chinese New Year at Two Rodeo Drive.

“The Year of the Pig marks our first Chinese New Year as a family, thanks to the addition of Baby Gabriel III. The Pig symbolizes good fortune, and we wanted to share ours with family and friends by bringing Chinatown to Beverly Hills. We are incredibly grateful to Piaget and Bottega Venetta for partnering with us in celebrating the last day of Chinese New Year with Chinatown 90210,” said Christine Chiu.

Guest enjoyed champagne, lychee cocktails, and dim sum under a cascade of Chinese lanterns and traditional Guqin music. Following the reception, guests were then ushered into a glamorous tent with lavish gold and red décor for a dinner prepared by Wolfgang Puck’s Chinois on Main restaurant. During the extravagant dinner guests were entertained with performances by ribbon dancers, martial artists, musicians, and more.

After the dinner, guests were led by a parade of dragon dancers to Café Chiu, a beautiful after-dinner lounge. Attendees had the opportunity to indulge in custom tea blending, calligraphy, candy art, gift bags by Bottega Veneta, and more. The Chiu family made a donation to support a child in China for one year on behalf of each guest attended.
