INTERSECT BY LEXUS Opens Third Global Location In NY’s Meatpacking District
Taking multi-tasking and multi-functional to the next level, INTERSECT BY LEXUS has opened in the heart of New York City’s Meatpacking District. The third global location for the lifestyle hub (the first two being in Tokyo and in Dubai), a real, culturally-oriented space has been created, combining the worlds of design and of food and beverage.
World-renowned designer Masamichi Katayama of Wonderwall crafted the gorgeous, 16,500 square-foot, three-story space, as he did for the Tokyo and Dubai locations as well. The Manhattan location represents the largest of the three, with exclusive elements and experiences for an elevated experience.
The Café is located on the street-level floor, alongside the CRAFTED FOR LEXUS retail shop and Public Gallery space. The second level houses the full-service Restaurant at INTERSECT BY LEXUS — NYC and Cocktail Bar and Lounge. Like the Café, the Restaurant and the Cocktail Bar and Lounge are both managed by Union Square Hospitality Group. The last floor—the third—has the Private Gallery, which will also be home to an events space, touting art installations, film screenings, panels, performances and other culturally-relevant experiences.
“The collaborative nature of New York City makes it a natural choice for the next adaptation of INTERSECT,” says Kirk Edmondson, General Manager of INTERSECT BY LEXUS – NYC. “We anticipate the cornerstones of the city will come to life within the space and become a hub where New Yorkers gather and share ideas. The unique space promotes curiosity and creativity that will inspire the next generation of innovators.”
Guests enjoy the high quality, world-class cuisine at the Restaurant, within an atmosphere that is both casual and sophisticated, simultaneously. The Restaurant also features a Global Chefs-in-Residence program, where some of the world’s top chefs—selected in collaboration with Danny Meyer’s renowned Union Square Hospitality Group—will debut new dining concepts and menus every four-to-six months. The first featured Chef to open the restaurant was Chef Gregory Marchand, known for bringing his simple, yet bold French flavors to “Frenchie Restaurant” in Paris and “Frenchie Covent Garden” in London.
“In many ways this is a dream collaboration as Lexus shares our commitment to hospitality, excellence and innovation, and INTERSECT is the perfect canvas for experimentation,” says Ron Parker, Chief Operating Officer of Union Square Hospitality Group. “When presented with the opportunity to search the globe for culinary innovators, we couldn’t wait to collaborate with some of the most exciting and inventive chefs that live to create positive and uplifting experiences for all guests.”
