Haute Living took to the Los Angeles beloved eatery a.o.c. with luxury watch brand Jaquet Droz to honor its latest cover star, the beautiful Vanessa Hudgens. The Rent: Live actress made her way into the glamorous affair looking gorgeous in a chic striped Missoni pantsuit, delicate jewels and slicked back hair, accompanied by her longtime boyfriend, actor Austin Butler.

Hudgens has been on a whirlwind press tour as she recently premiered her newest film with J. Lo, Second Act, and has also been preparing for the release of the highly-anticipated Rent: Live on Fox debut, where she’ll star as Maureen Johnson on January 27th.

“When Marc approached me to play Maureen, I thought, ‘This is interesting, granted that I did this show almost 10 years ago, and I’m at a different place now that I was then,’ and ‘It’s exciting to learn the show through a different character’s eyes,’” Hudgens recalls [in the exclusive Haute Living cover story]. “I loved playing Mimi—it’s such a fun character—but it almost felt too easy to do Mimi again. I thought it would be a fun challenge to play Maureen, and one that I hadn’t done yet.”

In honor of her accomplishments and her recent birthday, where she entered her third decade, luxury Swiss watchmaker Jaquet Droz surprised the star with a special birthday present—the Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Off-Centered Aventurine—presented to her by brand manager Francois Bezault. The gift was significant as it marks Hudgens’ first timepiece—and it was so special to her that it brought tears to her eyes upon opening the dazzling watch and showing it to the intimate room full of guests.

And that wasn’t the only gift—Hudgens also received a custom-made painting from artists Shelby and Sandy—a spooky Halloween-themed painting with a butterfly—symbolic of both her favorite time of the year, as well as her name ‘Vanessa’ translating to ‘butterfly.’
