Last year, the Miami Design District launched its first-ever, exclusive Performance Series produced by 19-time Grammy Award-winning producer Emilio Estefan in the ultra-luxe neighborhood’s beautiful Palm Court. Estefan collaborated with the famed Miami Symphony Orchestra, presented by the Knight Foundation, to produce the rotating series of exciting live performances of all different genres of music. The team tapped into a diverse range of artists, from local talent to larger, international names, drawing in a full house of guests each week.
The Miami Design District Performance Series is completely free and open to the public, aiming to enhance the rich culture of the area in the world of music and art. Its ability to bring typical theatre-setting performances to the outdoors in such a beautiful and happening area such as the Miami Design District is part of the music series’ unique draw. Not only do guests get to enjoy the musical talents from a new artist each week—that have been curated by one of the most renowned music producers in the world—but they also get to spend time in their local neighborhood, enjoy happy hour specials from the neighboring Estefan Kitchen and kick off the weekend each Friday evening.
On the lineup, this season will feature live performances by Julian Marley & The Uprising, Bernadette Peters, Luis Enrique, Thelma Houston, Nestor Torres, Emily Estefan, El Micha, Frankie Marcos & Clouds w/ special guest Carlos Oliva, The South Florida Youth Symphony and Taylor Dayne. In addition to the Performance Series, MDD also features two museums, ‘YogArt, movie screenings at the ICA, lectures, Family Day and guided art tours to explore all of the public art exhibitions curated by some of the world’s leading contemporary artists that are all complementary to visitors. Also, the popular Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) Pop-Up concerts will occur throughout the series.
All of the excitement will be returning to Palm Court on Friday, October 5th, 2018. “We are thrilled to bring back the Performance Series to the Miami community for the fourth season,” said DACRA CEO and President, Craig Robins. “With a diverse roster of talent headlining for 11 straight weeks, Miami Design District remains a key contributor to Miami‘s cultural fabric, by offering residents engaging cultural experiences, live music and more.”
VIP Table service is in high demand, so reservations are suggested at Estefan Kitchen. To make a reservation visit Open Table or call 786-843-3880.
