Inside The 2018 Emmys Governors Ball

The biggest television stars in Hollywood headed straight to L.A. Live’s event deck for the official afterparty of the 2018 Emmy Awards—which also happened to be the awards ceremony’s 70th anniversary.

Inspired by the 70th Emmy Awards key art and gold Emmy statuette, the signature décor element of the Governors Ball was an immersive light field suspended overhead. Thousands of LED lights twinkled through the color spectrum, creating dynamic, grand-event architecture. Furniture, table linens, florals and other décor in a color palette including shades of blue, precious metals (gold, silver, platinum) and provided modern opulence, sophistication and glamour.

Guests of the 2018 Governors Ball, themed Emmys Under the Stars, were treated to the ultimate in gourmet fare—35 different fine-dining small plates—made by legendary chef Joachim Splichal of the Michelin starred downtown eatery Patina and his Patina Catering. Winners like Darren Criss as well as the cast of Stranger Things noshed on Patina Spuds topped with shaved summer truffles, brown butter potato gnocchi, hand-carved flat iron steak, cave-aged mini Gruyere popovers, Nashville hot fried chicken sliders and olive oil poached salmon.

Sterling Vineyards returned as the official wine sponsor, while Ferrari Trento, crowned the 2017 sparkling wine producer of the year at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships, made its fourth appearance as the official sparkling wine of Emmy season. Upon arrival, at the Governors Ball, guests were greeted with flutes of the world champion blanc debBlancs, the Ferrari Brut NV Trentodoc.

Adding to the glamour of television’s most star-studded night, official spirit Ketel One Family-Made Vodka created a collection of Emmy-friendly cocktails including Enlightenment, the season’s official libation (strawberry-infused Ketel One Family-Made Vodka, Sencha green tea, aloe-cucumber liqueur, strawberry & yuzu pearls); Radiance (Ketel One Vodka, verjus, rosé, grapefruit and Mediterranean spice); and
