Discover, Rejuvenate, Indulge…Lana’i Awaits!
Working in the luxury hotel industry for as long as I have has given me a unique vantage point. As Global Account Director of Worldwide Sales at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, I’ve spent my fair share of nights at luxury resorts all over the world. However, one place that holds a very special spot in my heart is Four Seasons Resort Lana’i, located on a small, beautiful Hawaiian island. It’s pure magic for a vacation. From start to finish, the experience offers complete relaxation and unparalleled luxury.
Lana’i is about a 45-minute ferry ride from Maui, though most guests arriving by air stopover at Honolulu International Airport. This is where the Four Seasons journey begins—at the private airport lounge, only accessible to those staying at the resort. One of the perks is that you’re able to check into your room and book island activities right there in the lounge. It’s then a short half-hour flight to Lana’i. Or you can bypass the wait at the airport completely with the newly launched private air charter service on Lana’i Air, creating a customized travel experience for two to eight passengers.
The guest rooms are state-of-the-art and equipped with unique artwork and décor. Technology includes heated Japanese Toto toilets and shades that open and closes at the touch of a button—allowing you to personalize your room, so you feel comfortable.
Once you’re settled in, you can start enjoying all the activities. Play golf at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Manele Golf Course, channel your inner Katniss Everdeen by learning archery or set sail on a sunset catamaran cruise. If you want to explore the island, options include horseback riding, off-roading adventures, and hiking along the Koloiki Ridge Trail.
What’s my perfect day on Lana’i? It starts with private sunrise yoga on the beach with renowned Indian yoga master, Raj, who is originally from Four Seasons in the Maldives. After a spectacular breakfast buffet overlooking the ocean, I head to my favorite spot on the white sand beach at Hulopo’e Bay—and let all my stress melt away. The beach is ideal for sunbathing, snorkeling, and swimming with spinner dolphins. If I need a little more relaxation, I go to the Hawanawana Spa, which offers an assortment of treatments inspired by the healing powers of the ocean.
Lana’i is now also a foodie mecca, focusing on authentic Hawaiian flavors and local ingredients. The resort has multiple restaurant options, including Malibu Farm (the burrata and papaya salad is a must-order at lunch) and Nobu Lana’i (the new 15-course Teppanyaki experience at dinner is amazing).
All of these wonderful options are right at your fingertips at Four Seasons Resort Lana’i—and they’re the reason it’s one of my favorite hotels in the whole world.
Aloha,
Vicki
