Cochon555, the roving heritage pig culinary competition, has announced its lineup for the next San Francisco event. On Sunday, March 4, five chefs will compete to be the prince or princess of pork. The participating chefs are Ayesha Curry and Jeremy McMillan of International Smoke, Sophina Uong of Bi-Rite Market, Scott Romano of Dry Creek Kitchen, Jennifer Puccio of the Cavalier and Howard Ko of Loews Regency San Francisco. A week before the event, each chef is given a sustainably raised 200-pound heritage breed pig. The chef then creates a menu of dishes that 20 celebrity judges taste. The winner goes on to compete at the Grand Cochon later this year in Chicago.

This year’s Cochon promises to be bigger and better than ever and has a large scale location to match. It’s all going down at AT&T Park. Besides the food that the chefs prepare, there will be other bites from local chefs and producers. Think cheese, charcuterie, and everything in between. Duskie Estes and John Stewart of Zazu Kitchen + Farm will demonstrate how to break down an whole hog. Five top barkeeps will be making punch and winemakers from Pax Wine Cellars, Sandhi, Twomey Cellars, Silver Oak, and Kosta Browne will be pouring wine.

“We’re incredibly excited to return to S.F. during our 2018 tour, especially to an incredible destination like AT&T Park,” Cochon555 founder Brady Lowe said in a statement. “This tour is about uplifting small, family farmers through epic culinary moments. We create and restore connections between the farmer and chef who want to raise, source and serve food raised with purpose and passion. Together, through eating, we become stewards of the good food movement, motivating change and celebrating ‘landscapers’ who lead us to a safer and more delicious future.” Proceeds from the event are donated to charity, specifically Piggy Bank, a farming sanctuary for heritage breed pigs.

Tickets for Cochon555 are now on sale.
