The Smoke Shop Opens Second Restaurant Today In The Fort Point Channel

The Smoke Shop in Kendall Square is getting a new sibling today as chef/owner Andy Husbands opens his second location in the Fort Point Channel.

World Barbeque Champion Husbands decided to open this haute new location in the former Tavern Road space just a year and a half after opening his first Smoke Shop restaurant in Cambridge. At this location, expect to find some of his low and slow cooked specialties with some modern twists like Texas Hot Links & Pimento Cheese, Buttermilk Fried Pickles, The Best Bar Wings with agave and pit spices, heaping platters of barbecue filled with St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, slow-smoked brisket and burnt ends. As for sides, think Zucchini Salad with toasted almonds, fresh herbs, parmesan, Bacon Collards with blackstrap molasses, and Sweet & Spicy Coleslaw.

The new Seaport location will feature some exclusive menu items like a new line of custom popcorn for bar snacks with flavors such as Creole Caramel and Rosemary & Sea Salt as well as a featured “City Q Specials” menu offering a variety of sandwiches, including the Seaport Hot Chicken Sandwich and The Carolina Cubano.

Save some room for a sweet treat like the soft-serve ice cream served in a waffle bowl topped with a house made ‘Magic Shell,’ praline, and jimmies.

The Smoke Shop Seaport offers 180 seats and this location features the brand’s signature cow and knife walls, six large screen TV’s throughout the space, and a smaller private dining area for up to 16 guests. Be sure to keep an eye out their American whiskey collection, which features more than 200 varieties.

The Smoke Shop is located at 343 Congress Street and is open daily for lunch and dinner.
