Stranger Things 2 Premieres In L.A. With A Halloween Bash

On Thursday, the cast of Stranger Things 2 celebrated the premiere of the new season at at special event at the Westwood Village Theater in Los Angeles. Guests were treated to original 1980s ads before the series began, advertising arcades, and of course Eggos. 

The whole gang came out to celebrate, including cast members Winona Ryder, Linnea Berthelsen, Millie Bobby Brown, Cara Buono, Joe Chrest, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Matthew Modine, Dacre Montgomery, Paul Reiser, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink and Finn Wolfhard.

Stranger Things took the world by storm when it debuted last year. Set in 1983 Hawkins, Indiana, the series is a love letter to all things 80s. A group of friends attempt to solve a complex mystery after a young boy disappears into thin air. They’re thwarted by supernatural forces, a demogorgon monster and ominous government officials, but find help in one strange girl named Eleven who has her own unique set of superpowers.  

Season 2 picks up in 1984 as the town is still picking up the pieces from the latest supernatural happenings. Will Byers has returned from the Upside Down, but an even bigger threat looms over the friends. It’s available now to binge watch on Netflix.

After the screening, guests descended upon a Halloween party decorated like a Hawkins country fair, complete with carnival games, themed drinks including “UpCider Down,” and lots of hay. Eggos took advantage of the branding opportunity with a cart offering pizza and eggs on waffles. 

The new season launches just in time for Halloween, as fans around the country are already getting their Stranger Things costumes ready to party.
