“Madam Secretary” Star Keith Carradine Shares His Secrets To The City Of Angels

Keith Carradine has starred in over seventy feature films, five Broadway shows and has released two LP Albums of his music. His song “I’m Easy” from Nashville won an Academy Award and Golden Globe for “Best Song” and was a Billboard Top Ten single and on Sunday, you’ll see him on the small screen as the fourth season of his hit show, Madam Secretary, premieres on CBS. In his addition to his series, about former CIA analyst turned Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord where he stars as the President Conrad Dalton, Carradine has appeared in McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Thieves Like Us and Nashville; Alan Rudolph for Welcome To L.A., Choose Me and The Moderns and Walter Hill for The Longriders and Southern Comfort. Other notable film credits include Louis Malle’s Pretty Baby and Ridley Scott’s The Duellists. This past spring he worked again with director Alan Rudolph, on the film Ray Meets Helen, opposite Sondra Locke. Recent film appearances include Terrence Davies’ A Quiet Passion, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints opposite Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara and Cowboys and Aliens opposite Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford. Other recent and notable television series roles include Penny’s father, Wyatt on The Big Bang Theory, Wild Bill Hickock on HBO’s Deadwood, Special Agent Frank Lundy on Showtime’s Dexter and Lou Solverson, opposite Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman, on FX’s Fargo. The Southern California Edison Headquarters, Downtown-they’re all about power there.

If you have out of town guests, which hotel would you recommend?
Depends on the guests-high rollers, The Four Seasons- for the rest of us? Boulevard Hotel is a good buy.

Favorite shopping venue/boutique:
Not really a shopper-although 3rd Street Promenade has a nice vibe.

Favorite place to buy jewelry/watches:
Feldmar Watch Co for watches, Tiffany & Co for serious bling.

Favorite Charity Event:
Anything that benefits Alzheimer’s Research

Concerts at the Hollywood Bowl

The Getty, Sepulveda Pass and the Getty on PCH. Should see both. LACMA is also a must. And the Autrey is quintessential LA.

The Griffith Observatory-an Art Deco dream-and they shot Rebel Without A Cause there.
