On Saturday, September 9, the LGBTQ community will come together for the annual GLAAD Gala, which recognizes innovators in the Bay Area for their promotion of acceptance in news media. This event will be hosted by Ross Matthews, honor Sam Altman of Y Combinator, and feature a special performance by Julia Michaels.

Valentino is presenting the first ever UNICEF Gala San Francisco at the Ritz-Carlton on Saturday, October 7. Goodwill ambassador Ishmael Beah will be honored for his work to put children first. A virtual reality bar with unique experiences will showcase UNICEF’s work in the field.

On Friday, October 20, the Bay Area Arthritis Auxiliary is hosting their 15th annual fashion luncheon. Local designer Tokyo Gamine will debut a new collection of clothing at the show and lunch, which takes place at the Fairmont Hotel and is chaired by Judy Jorgensen.
Taste America Tour

The James Beard Foundation is hosting their fifth benefit, Taste America Tour on Friday, October 27 at the Fairmont San Francisco. The event consists of a reception with bites from the city’s hottest chefs, followed by a decadent dinner and live auction. The meal is being cooked by a team of James Beard Award-winning chefs including Hugh Acheson, Stuart Brioza, and Nicole Krasinski.
