Atlanta’s Most Fashionable Attend 25th Annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares
On Monday August 28, 2017, Atlanta’s most notable gathered at the transformed Phipps Plaza for an unforgettable evening filled with fashion and philanthropy, otherwise known as the 25th Annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares Event. Each year, Jeffrey Fashion Cares is Atlanta’s kick-off event for the upcoming fall social season. This year, however, marked 25 years of this event and was the best yet.
Once again the annual glam fest was hosted by Event Chairs Lila Hertz, Jeffrey McQuithy and Louise Sams and of course Jeffrey Kalinsky. This year, the sold-out evening was located in a transformed Phipps Plaza where guests enjoyed a high-energy reception and silent auction followed by a live auction and the best part: the runway show featuring Jeffrey Kalinsky’s Fall style selections. Kalinsky, who created this event in 2003, is the creator of two namesake boutiques in Atlanta and Manhattan, and is an arbiter of style across the country. And guests were most definitely in for a bright and unforgettable show filled with pieces from designers such as Celine, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Valentino, Dries van Noten, Saint Laurent Paris, Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik.
Although the exact amount raised at the benefit won’t be available for a little a while, they already know it was one of the most successful to date with the proceeds going to Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta, the Atlanta AIDS Fund (AAF), and the Medical University of South Carolina. Over the course of its history, Jeffrey Fashion Cares has raised more than 15 million dollars for its beneficiaries.
Before we get to the Jeffrey’s looks for fall and trend report, there is one more exciting announcement for those who work so hard on behalf of this event each year. Jeffrey Kalinsky and Jeffrey Fashion Cares were granted a Phoenix Award, the highest honor that can be bestowed on a citizen for service to the City of Atlanta by the Mayor. The award recognizes outstanding achievements and service to the city, state, nation or world. Much deserved and congratulations on that significant honor.
And now to the Fall Fashion Show
