PETROSSIAN is the number one place for caviar in L.A. Whether you dine in the cafe or take home something from the boutique—such as the $700 12 Days of Tiger’s Eye Collection box that includes Royal Ossetra, USA Royal Transmontanus and Daurenki—this is a fantastic place to celebrate. Some items you should try at the cafe include:
- Caviar Frites, $36: Ultimate combination of a French fry craving combined with top notch caviar, the Caviar Frites come topped with two varieties of caviar and crème fraiche
- Caviar and Roe Blinis, $18; Caviar Only, $28: Start any meal off with these bite sized servings of caviar, trout roe, salmon roe and pike roe served on top of buckwheat blinis, for just a little taste of the simplest luxury. Pair it up with Cutting Board ($32, with Cured Meats, Cheeses, Mustard, Quince Jam, House-made Pickled Vegetables, Honeycomb) for when you want to graze but don’t want to limit yourself.
- Smoked Salmon Flatbread, $48: Served with Créme Fraîche, Chives, Red Onion, Capers, and Caviar
- Mousse of Foie Gras with Truffles, $24: Petrossian Confiture, Balsamic Reduction, Arugula, Toast Points
- Caviar Scrambled Eggs, $28: Herbs, Toast, the simplest eggs prepared in the classic French manner
MAMA LION, a hot new supper club in Koreatown, pays home to the adage of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ with its classic caviar service. Guests looking to enjoy the finer things in life can order the 1/2 oz. Osetra caviar service, located under the ‘Raw’ section of its dinner menu. The dish is served traditionally with blini, creme fraiche, chives and egg yokes for $52.
