Haute Living Honors J Balvin with Buchanan’s Whisky at Matador Room

As Latin America’s greatest names flock to the Magic City in honor of Univision‘s “Premios Juventud” pop-culture awards show at the University of Miami, Haute Living got to catch up and celebrate with music sensation and cover star, J Balvin, for an intimate evening at the Miami Beach EDITION‘s Matador Room.

The star made his grand entrance at the hip Miami Beach hotel as he pulled up in a white Maybach, posing for photo ops with adoring fans. The humble singer stopped along the way inside the restaurant to pose for more shots with fans, who were all excited to see Balvin, especially coming off of the debut of his Billboard chart-topping hit song, “Mi Gente.”

Inside the stunning Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant and bar, guests enjoyed beautiful specialty cocktails from Buchanan’s Whisky, including the La Familia, a J Balvin favorite, which he helped the master mixologist create. The pretty pink cocktail is created with Buchanan’s DeLuxe, aguardiente antioqueño, guava juice, raspberry syrup, lemon juice and sparkling wine. Other cocktails included the coconut-flavored “Miami Breeze” and the “Haute Living,” created with Buchanan’s Deluxe, sweet vermouth, chocolate bitters and an orange peel.

Recently, Buchanan’s Blended Scotch Whisky launched a campaign called “Es Nuestro Momento” (It’s Our Time), of which J Balvin is a partner of, celebrating the greatness and diversity of the Latin community and positive influence Latinos have had on mainstream culture. Balvin helps bring to life the spirit of the campaign and amplify the Latino influence in America.

Balvin was joined by social media sensation Gianluca Vacchi as well as Wilmer Valderrama in honor of his cover launch. Other notable attendees included Haute Living co-publishers Kamal Hotchandani and Seth Semilof, Gonzalo Morales, Vice President and General Manager of the Delano Chris Sariego and wife Polina Ross, haute nightclub ORA’s Dana Dwyer and more. Before sitting down for dinner, artist Flore presented Balvin with a custom painting in honor of his cover launch.

Guests sat down for a lavish dinner which featured the Spanish-inspired restaurant’s greatest dishes including the Charred Octopus, the rich Black Truffle Pizza, the famed Arroz Con Pollo, Roasted Snapper and Charred Beef Tenderloin, as well as the Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake and Salted Caramel “Impossible” Flan for dessert.

The night was commemorated with a heartwarming toast from Haute Living CEO Kamal Hotchandani, where he raised his glass of Buchanan’s Special Reserve – aged for at least 18 Years – to congratulate J Balvin on his enormous success and new hit single, as well as thanking the star for always reminding us to be grateful. The room raised their glasses and toasted to the evening as sounds of Balvin’s track, “Mi Gente” ignited the room.
