Last Saturday night the Drever family hosted the 6th annual Hotbed Gala at their home in Tiburon. The event was a benefit for Planet Hope, Sharon Stone and her sister, Kelly’s nonprofit which provides resources to homeless, abused, and terminally ill children. The evening is one of the most extravagant and over the top affairs of the year. This past weekend’s Hotbed was a journey back in time to the Far East and guests were invited to experience the wonders of ancient China. Performance artists—consisting of contortionists, jugglers, Chinese yo-yoers, and lion and dragon dancers—roamed the property. Part of the outdoor courtyard was transformed into a Chinatown-inspired marketplace with a food truck and floral fountain. This area was home to the silent auction which featured an assortment of luxe lots including a fringed Tina Turner dress and the cast-signed script for the Sharon Stone movie, Casino. There was also a contemporary art gallery that partygoers could explore with a curated selection of artists commissioned to express the Imperial Dynasty.

However, the highlight of the night was Jake’s runaway show. “There really isn’t another event like the Drever’s annual Hotbed Gala. A celebration of the arts and artistic expression, this year Jake was selected to close out the evening of artistry and we couldn’t be more pleased with our world of East-meets-West architectural fashion that is Indochine,” the fashion brand’s founder and designer Jake Wall told Haute Living by email. Its latest collection, Indochine, consists of 12 looks each for men and women inspired by the animal signs of the Chinese Zodiac. “The Indochine collection is about seeing the world from a different perspective, a perfect example of this is the Chinese Zodiac,” Wall said. “Animals are assigned by month (called inner animals), by day (called true animals) and hours (called secret animals). While a person might appear to be a dragon because they were born in the year of the dragon, they might also be a snake internally, an ox truly, and a goat secretively. Much like the legendary and mysterious Forbidden City, we are more than meets the eye.”

After the show guests proceeded to a Patron Tequila sponsored afterparty with music, dancing, and late night snacks. Special guests included Rosanna Arquette, who wore a suit from Jake’s Les Liaisons Dangereuses collection, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Carson Kressley, Gilles Marini, Tanya Tucker, and Michelle Visage.
