WHERE TO EAT:

The Dutch. While the Fourth of July is  associated with independence and freedom, over the years it has evolved into more than a national holiday. Full of cookouts and grilling, the red white and blue holiday has become a designated day for barbecues. The Dutch, a premier restaurant in W South Beach Hotel and Residences, recognizes this and will be celebrating all month with poolside barbecue treats and homemade pies, starting on July 5. If your July Fourth fill isn’t satisfied after the celebration, Executive Chef Adonay Tafur, Chef Joshua Gripper and more guest chefs invite you back every Wednesday in July for the Dutch’s sixth annual barbecue series with uniquely themed barbecues each week.

Faena Miami Beach. Faena Miami Beach is kicking off the holiday spirit a bit early on Sunday, July 2, with an Independence Day BBQ. Veering away from its South American grilling roots, Faena is embracing the all-American holiday with a Hot Dog and Burger Cart. Along with the mouth-watering options, guests can indulge in bar packages like the BBQ and Beach Package, which includes gourmet hot dogs and burgers, as well as reserved beachside lounge chairs for the day.

Sugar at EAST, Miami. There’s never a wrong time to drink rose, but there is a most fitting time: summertime, preferably on a gorgeous Miami rooftop. This Fourth of July, fulfill your rose fantasies with the “Rose, White and Blue” event at Sugar at EAST, Miami. But, the pink drink won’t be the only one making a bombshell appearance. On the rooftop, guests can celebrate in Magic City style with beats by DJ Lazaro Casanova, adding to the summertime heat.

WHERE TO PLAY:

The Confidante Hotel. The Confidante Hotel is giving you and the national holiday extra celebration time with its weekend long backyard oasis. From Saturday, July 1, until Tuesday, July 4, the hotel is hosting a poolside barbecue with a live DJ, complimentary jello shots and festive cotton candy. Along with the free-of-charge amenities, the Confidante Hotel is offering $14 cocktail specials from the refreshing “Independence Spice” options to the more tangy “Tea Time” offerings. On July 2, fold up your towel, and break away from the pool for a bit to visit Nina’s House from 1PM to 5PM for Trendwalk, a showcase of fashion and lifestyle pop-ups with summer sartorial essentials. Top off the relaxing Fourth of July by reassuming your spot at the pool on Monday, July 3, to listen to some live jazz from 1PM to 4PM.

Not only is Frost’s admission fee reduced to $21 for adults and $15 for children for the day, but the museum will also run planetarium laser light shows every 15 minutes throughout the night. Sticking with tradition, the Frost Museum of Science will celebrate with a live DJ, barbecue food available for purchase and breathtaking fireworks along Biscayne Bay.

Mondrian South Beach. Enjoy the fireworks lighting up Biscayne Bay with a glass of bubbly in hand at the Mondrian South Beach hotel. The exclusive hotel is the perfect backdrop for your Fourth of July plans and instagram-worthy photos.

Nautilus, a Sixty Hotel. Nautilus earns the prize for culinary creativity for its backyard experience with a twist. While the South Beach hotel is preparing a top-notch barbecue, the resort is not only serving up the typical hot dogs and hamburgers–expert chefs will grill quality meats to perfection on the “parilla.”

Shelborne South Beach. In the proverbial thesaurus for national holidays, next to the Fourth of July would most definitely read “pool party.” The Shelborne South Beach invites guests to a haute South Beach pool party this Independence Day with specialty cocktails, an a la carte barbecue and entertaining DJs. Until sundown, bask in the vibrant South Beach energy, which will be amplified by the Fourth festivities.
