2nd Annual Bourbon Gala Benefitting Enduring Hearts
Despite the fiery crash that closed down most of the city on Thursday, people still showed up for the Second Annual Enduring Hearts Charity Bourbon Gala & Auction at The Stave Room at American Spirit Works. Unfortunately, the location happened to be right near the terrible fire that caused the bridge to collapse, but tragedy and traffic didn’t stop over 160 people from turning out to support this great cause. Enduring Hearts is a nonprofit who has a mission of funding important and innovative research to increase the longevity of pediatric heart transplants and improve the quality of life for transplant recipients.
Guests who were in attendance including former Atlanta Falcon Garrett Reynolds, listened to music by John Driskell Hopkins, of Zac Brown Band and up-and-coming singer/songwriter Erin Alvey O’Sullivan. Pappy Van Winkle’s, some of the rarest whiskies around were part of the auction including Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year, Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year, Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye, Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year, Pappy Van Winkle 20 Year, and Pappy Van Winkle 23 Year. People furiously bid on these special reserves and one bottle sold for $4,000.
Audi, a sponsor of the event to benefit Enduring Hearts, showed off their newest 2018 Audi R8 inside the venue. Guests reveled at the sheer beauty of the car and even sat inside to get a feel for it. Though circumstances prevented a lot of people from coming to this gala, Ankur Chatterjee, President and Executive Director, expressed his gratitude on a Facebook post.
